Buying and selling in Washington, DC, especially during a pandemic that has intensified an already competitive market, can be a long, stressful slog. We did both with Tom Faison and Linda Frame, who sold our Petworth condo (even when that market was cooling off) and then helped us find the perfect home on the Hill (when homes were going 10% over asking, we got one under the list price). Whatever the challenges, through all the ups and downs, we felt like they were true partners — seeing opportunities around corners, in the thick of it with us at every turn. Their experience, deep knowledge of the market, good humor and responsiveness served us incredibly well. But it’s the intangibles that elevate Tom and Linda well above most of their competitors. After purchasing our very first home in 2013 using Tom Faison, we knew without a doubt we’d be calling him back the second we were ready to sell and buy again! Sure enough in the fall of 2020, we had Tom over to discuss the possibility of moving, and he listened intently to our ideas, didn’t pressure us whatsoever to take action before we were comfortable, and gave us excellent knowledgeable advice and insight on the market; all the while, his demeanor was highly professional, yet casual and calm. And man, he’s funny, too!! Once we decided we were ready, Tom personally dropped off a bunch of boxes to get us started, and we worked closely with his listing design manager, Kendall to prep our house for selling. She was top notch with organization, recommending and sending direct links to items I needed, contacting and setting up the painters, cleaners, window washer, electrician, trash removal etc. We decided to hire our own stager, but when I wasn’t thrilled with a few layouts in the rooms, Kendall immediately called them and took care of everything without any issue. She was dedicated, confident, in tune with the latest trends, and quick to respond to every email. Once we listed our home, we had 4 offers within 4 days and sold (above asking) for a price we were very happy with. Tom led us through weighing the offers and his many years of experience was very obvious. The whole closing process was smooth, surprisingly easy and we will be using Tom and his team to buy our new house! Tom and his team are humble, intelligent, and conscientious, and these traits made us feel at ease and respected, like we were in the lead, through the whole process.

I just sold a home with Justin on Capitol Hill–a home I bought with him ten years ago. Justin was a delight to work with in both those transactions. His judgment in the selling process in particular turned out to be spot on, both in his recommendations of what improvements to make prior to putting the property on the market and his recommendations of how to manage the sales process. Not to mention that he managed all the necessary work on the house with almost no effort required by me whatsoever. I’d absolutely work with him again.

First let me state that I was a real estate professional in DC for over 7 years and thought of no one else other than Tom Faison to sell my DC home. I didn’t know Tom personally, but I knew of his name and reputation from the many listings he had in my H Street/Capitol Hill neighborhood. I also remembered Tom from the unique, poetically-written home descriptions that he usually writes in his listings: something that truly helps his listings stand out. At the time I was getting ready to sell my home, I no longer lived in DC. So having a real estate professional with a great reputation was important to me because I needed someone that I could trust since I would not be there to oversee things. Tom and his team were the perfect choice to handle the sale of my home. I reached out to Tom around October 2019. He and his team took a tour of my home, gave me some recommended cosmetic fixes to help my home better stand out against any foreseeable competition, and introduced me to a reasonably-priced contractor that could handle the repairs. Tom and his team managed the repairs while I was out of state and even helped sell some of my furniture that I still had in my home: an added bonus! They connected me to a fabulous staging company and made sure the staging was done in a timely manner. After a month or so of repairs, we hit the market with a carefully thought out listing price that we determined based on the house comps that Tom found. In less than a week on the market, we had multiple offers on my house and ended up selecting an offer that had no contingencies. The house closed in under 30 days with no issues. Overall, I am extremely happy with the service Tom and his team provided. I would fully recommend Tom to any of my friends/family in the DC metro area and to anyone reading this review.
Tom Faison and his team are the exemplar of how a real estate company should operate. Cumulatively, we have purchased 6 properties. We bought our last home from Tom in 2014. We were so impressed with him that he was an automatic “go to” when it came to who would represent us in the sale of our house in 2020. We recommend Tom and his team with the utmost confidence.
Without knowing much about DC real estate, I dreaded selling my sister’s Capitol Hill home from another state. But Tom and his team made this process easier than I could have ever imagined. When Tom said “throw us the keys and we’ll help you take care of it,” I was skeptical — “full service” brokers are a rare breed. However, as soon as I signed the contract (or 8, as he jokes), it was clear the team would care for the place as if it were their own. Throughout the entire process, Tom gave me the right mix of space, support and expert advice to ensure the process was flawless. Kendall, the listing prep manager, was amazing. Everything down to their quirky, targeted marketing was effective in making the sales process quick and successful. It’s clear this team truly knows the market; and the team felt like they were partners with me from start to finish. I genuinely cannot recommend this team enough.
Once we decided we were going to buy in D.C., we started our search via Zillow and attending quite a few open houses. After several weekends of honing in on what we thought we wanted and meeting several folks hoping to do the same, we found Linda. One cold, wintery day – we walked into an open house and met the real estate agent showing the home. As we walked throughout the house, we realized that it wasn’t the home that was standing out to us – it was the warm, friendly atmosphere that Linda created. One week later, we were sitting having coffee with Linda and she spent the next two hours learning about who we were, why we were moving, and what we wanted. It was beyond what we would have expected of any real estate agent and clearly Linda cared about making sure we found the perfect home for us. Over the course of the next few weeks, we went and saw several homes with Linda and each day was wonderful. She has quite a knack at being both informative as well as making the experience enjoyable! At one point, we were considering putting an offer on a new construction and Tom Faison came out to the home and walked through with all of us as well. It was outstanding to see them working as a team and truly making sure we were considering all the pros and cons of what the home offered. As luck would have it, we decided to swing by a nearby home that we had previously visited on the way back to our apartment, and all the pros/cons discussions between Linda and Tom helped us realized that the one down the road was the home we really desired. Linda agreed and quickly got to work getting a contractor she trusted to show us what it would take to make the changes we would want. We loved the ideas and knew we wanted to move forward. Our decision landed on Christmas Eve and Linda didn’t bat an eye at spending several hours to work up an offer that made us competitive. Our offer got accepted and we closed in late January with the lender recommended by Linda and Tom given he not only presented the best rate, but also made sure to walk line-by-line through any figures and questions we had. We’ve been in the house for a few weeks now and couldn’t be happier! Linda and Tom are one-of-a-kind professionals who we would recommend to anyone. Their level of expertise, their obvious care about their clients, and the connections they have in nearly every aspect of the real estate home buying process was crucial in making what was a large undertaking one we felt ready to concur.
The Tom Faison team is excellent! I was house shopping remotely and had contacted a number of agents, and really gelled with Tom and Linda Frame. Linda was amazing. She spent a lot of time to get to know me and what I was looking for, which helped tailor my search. She took me on several virtual tours, and when I was finally able to visit she had her full focus on me. She helped me think through what I really wanted in a home, in terms of size, neighborhood, amenities, etc, and was able to show me a slew of options, including some that weren’t on the market yet, so I would have a good idea of what the tradeoffs were between places in my price range. I used the visit to narrow down what I wanted, and given the incredibly competitive home buying market in DC I expected that I would have to actually buy a house remotely. However, Linda recommended that I go ahead and make an offer on the house that most exemplified what I was looking for, and Tom gave detailed advice on exactly HOW to make the offer. To my shock (and great pleasure) that offer was accepted!! I really couldn’t have done it without them, and am now very happy in my new home in Capitol Hill!!
